Hello all my lovely followers and how are all of you this wonderful Friday and the start to a wonderful weekend. Well it's been two weeks (can you believe it) since the last challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge and this week our theme is "Tree"! You can use any type of Die Cuts and/or machine to create a NEW project. I used my Cricut to create my "Organic Gardening" Journal. I also made a Thank You Card and a Corner Bookmark. I used my "Straight from the Nest" Cartridge and also my "Bloom" lite cartridge. I've always Loved this tree ever since I got this cart when it was an exclusive to HSN and I HAD to have it, lol! This tree has always just seemed "Organic" to me. I don't know why but it does, so I used it for this Organic Gardening Journal. The Tree is cut @ 4" on the Journal and 3" on the card and each layer is popped. The tree on the Journal has my favorite packing tape technique with some green peridot Martha Stewart Glitter added for some sparkle. Now the paper is My Minds Eye (love it and it's been some of those papers I just can't seem to use, lol) it is all glittered and embossed so it just adds to the sparkle and the pictures don't do the paper justice.
I added a couple of pockets on the inside of the journal to keep receipts or seed packets or even some pictures. I also added a paperclip and a bulldog clip so things don't blow away if it happens to be windy outside that day! Oh and also my corner bookmark to keep your place from where you were last time you were jotting things down! This is a cool feature on the Straight From The Nest cartridge with Lots of these corner bookmarks and I cut it at 2".
A close up of the Journal, you can see the sparkle, and I have to tell you I had to do some cutting on the word gardening since I couldn't find anything so I took two words and pieced them together from the Bloom cart. It was from the saying "How does your Garden Grow" and "Celebrate Spring" I cut the "ing" off of Spring and pieced to the word Garden to make the word "gardening". You know where's there's a will, there's a way, lol! On the binding I used a Martha Stewart border punch and used my Crop A Dile to punch a couple of holes to hold my jute on. And of course had to add some Bling! I also did some shading on my words to give them more definition and separation with some Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalk Inks in Mocha Mama and Green With Envy and did a little doodling with a Brown Jelly Roll Pen.
And then the close up of my card. Some added jute, a vinyl rub-on and of course, Bling!
Well I hope you enjoyed my "Tree" Challenge. I sure hope you join us over at SOUS Die Cut Challenge. Just remember it has to be a NEW creation and you have two weeks to enter.
