"SKY" Challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches Die Cuts!

Hi everyone and the 2nd challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches is already here, can you believe it! Now the new challenge is "SKY" so as you can imagine, anything in the sky, belongs in the sky or I guess even just the sky! Well the first thing I thought of was airplanes and thought of having my grand kids come out here to visit and they want to take an airplane and the girls LOVE Hello Kitty (and all my faithful followers know that Hello Kitty is my secret obsession, shhhhh don't tell anyone, lol, I just think she's the cutest little thing, well other then my grand kids!) I also wanted to do something Bright and Colorful so what better choice then Hello Kitty!
Now Obviously I used the Hello Kitty Cartridges, both the Greetings and the Font, I also used Lyrical Letters for some of the words. I didn't add allot of extras this time because I just didn't think it needed it, with all the colors and larger images so I just added some buttons, did some doodling with black and white jelly roll pens, used a Martha Stewart punch for some contrast and a transition between the papers, added some pop dots to pop everything off the page and give more dimension and depth and added a little luggage tag on the piece of luggage. Now that piece of luggage doubles as my journaling spot! That's another little secret of mine that you'll learn if you follow me, I like to hide my journaling spots on my layouts, well not actually hide them, I like to find different and creative ways to incorporate them into my layouts. I've added some extra pictures of each side of the layouts for you do see better details if your interested.

Here is a close up of the Left side with my inspiration of the challenge "SKY" and the Airplane with the cute little Hello Kitty flying on her way to see Grandma! You can also see the doodling dots and the colorful buttons.
Here is a close up of the Right side with the Hello Kitty in the car.
And here is a close up of the luggage and my journaling tag, see isn't it a neat idea, just like a little card! Actually you could enlarge it and use it as a card and I wish I would have but I had already put everything away so next time I have all my stuff out I'll just have to make me a card to go with this.
And here is the Hello Kitty inspiration "SKY" in all her Glory! Too Cute don't you think, lol!

Well I sure hope you join us over at Stuck On U Sketch's grab your die cut machine and whip up something in that has to do with the "SKY"! You have 2 weeks to enter and you could win our cute Blinkie to add to your blog (along with bragging rights of course, lol)! I sure hope to see you there and while your out today, just take a look up at the sky, maybe you'll get inspired to create something!

Another August Club Q Re-Do!

Hi everyone it's Quick Quotes Club Q Re-Do time again and I sure had some "Summer Fun" with this Club Q August kit!

I used the
August Club Q Kit to make this fun “Summer Fun” Country Looking 2 page Layout! I L-O-V-E this kit! The Reds and Yellow in this kit just make me smile! I love the Gingham and the Herringbone combination I used on this one with the gingham ribbon and adding the daisies, really make it country looking (even with the bling I added, makes it Country Chic, lol!). I didn’t add to much to this kit, just added my spin on a already amazing kit. I used the
Yummy Quick Quotes chalk inks in
Mocha Mama and Bloody Mary and I added a bit of Gold Acrylic paint to add some shimmer and sheen.
The Non Item Products I used were minimal:
EK Success Edge Punch
Bling: Studo 18
Folk Art Acrylic Paint, Metallic Inca Gold
Flowers: Walmart
Red Ribbon: Michael’s
Here's a closeup of my journaling tag slipped in a pocket where three pics are going to eventually go. You can slid the pics under the cut out daisies or hold them with the paperclips if for some reason you may want to change them.
Here's the Left page with a close up of the fun mix of the papers used, I Love the yellow gingham and the herringbone papers, I can't say it enough, lol!
I added the ribbon by laying using Beacon's 3 in 1 glue and just crunching it on to give it some fun dimension ( I originally tried using a tape runner but the ribbon was to thick and it kept popping off so I wanted to share that with you in case you tried and had the same problem, wink wink). Layered the flowers that I cut off the bracket from the kit and of course, added some Bling on my tags with the vellum F U N quote (also from the kit)! Now remember the loops come in the kit but the scalloped border is a EK Success punch.
Well here's the August Club Q Kit in all it's Gorgeous Glory and don't forget my earlier in the month Club Q Kit Re-Do Mini with the additional add on option HERE!
Make sure you check out the Quick Quotes Blog for more inspiration and more contests, you never know you may win a Quick Quotes Private Reserve how fun would that be! I'm actually getting to go to my first one this weekend in Georgia, I'm so Super Excited! (I'm bring my computer so hopefully I'll be trying to get a post in while I'm there and show you what I did so you can start planning your next trip to a Private Reserve Getaway!)

Well gotta go I'm going to get started getting my stuff ready to go, I sure hope I don't pack too much, lol! I'd Love it if you left a comment, they really do make my day and always gives me a smile when you all leave such sweet and encouraging comments so Thank You, you really do mean the world to me, so on that note...........................

Bewitching with BBTB2 and The Stamping Boutique!

Welcome Ya'll, How the heck have you been!? Well I've been good and busy and been doing some Digi Stamping this week with Bitten By The Bug 2 and The Stamping Boutique! Now Stamping is not my forte but I'm starting to get into it! I still don't have any Copic markers, I still use colored pencils, actually I use the Prisma colored pencils and Mineral Spirits (also know as Gamsol) I would love to have some Copics, and maybe one day I will but as of now, Nope! Colored pencils are very easy to use with the spirits, you can just color (and it doesn't have to be perfect) and then come back and "paint" with the Mineral Spirits and everything just flows and looks like paint (or a cheaper version of Copics, lol)! There are plenty of videos on YouTube if your interested. But anyway back to the challenge over at BBTB2 this week....................................
We have a sponsor with The Stamping Boutique and we used the Happy Hauntings Cartridge this week using one of the frames for our Digi image! I had an Amazingly "Bewitching" time, lol! Ken even said it looks like I did a self portrait of myself with my favorite ride but why did I make my hair black instead of red, LOL! Hey, I wish I was that thin so he must be mistaken, lol!
Well I made a card and used a pre-made card base and cut my frame at 7" and popped the top layer with dimensional foam. Cut Bewitching at 1 5/8" with the shadow and again, layered it with foam. The Witches Hat is cut at 2" and the Black Cat is cut at 3" and all are dimensional. Added some silver ink to give it some more texture and not look so new and the doodle dot's are actually Silver dots but they look white.
Well I sure hope you join us over at BBTB2 along with the current challenge sponsored by The Stamping Boutique which is make a NEW project and Use your Cricut (the Design Team used the Happy Hauntings cartridge) but you are free to use any cart with a frame BUT you need to add a stamp somewhere on your project! You think your up for the challenge, lol!? It will be fun with a little spin so what do you say................You may just win a great prize form The Stamping Boutique and our great Pick Of the Week (POW) Blinkie to add to your blog, along with bragging rights, of course! So I sure hope to see you there and link up to Mr. Linky!

I also have some other news to share with ya'll!
We have a New Addition to the family! Isn't she A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! She was just born on Fri. 8/19/11 and she less then a day old here and so soft and cuddly. I just had to share her with you all. Well have a great week and hope to see you over at BBTB2 this week!

A BIG Announcement! I'm on A New Design Team called Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Team! AND a Cricut Circle challenge!

Hi Ya'll! I have some Really Exciting news to share with you today!

I'm on a NEW Design Team! Woo Hoo!

It's called Stuck on U Sketches Die Cuts and today is the Debut!
I sure hope you hop on over and check it out! They have challenges every other week and a chance to win some really great prizes! The only stipulation for the Die Cut challenges is to use Die Cuts, they are still going to be doing the Sketch challenges so make sure to check those out also! Now you can use store bought Die Cuts but the trick here is to get the most out of your Die Cut Machines. Now I LOVE my Cricut and use it all the time (actually I have a hard time creating without it, lol) Well enough about all the technical stuff, heck just hop on over to Stuck on U Sketches and check them out! Now onto my Design Team Debut Layout!

Now the challenge for the next 2 weeks is
"PLAY"
Now interpret that any way you wish! You can use the word, theme, toys or activity or anything that you can come up with! Remember it's a challenge so have fun with it!
Well my project is a Fun day at the "PLAY"Ground! I've had these pics of McCade when he was 2 yrs. old and he loved to go to the park down the street. It was when we were still living in Las Vegas and they had some of the nicest parks there and we lived right down the street so it was within walking distance so it was almost a daily thing. And you sure can tell by his face how much fun he was having, lol! Well of course I had to use a swing set and used the one from Pop-Up Neighborhood (also the inspiration to enter the Cricut Circle challenge) and cut it @ 8". Then because I made it so big I was having a hard time getting all the pics on the page so I had to add a swing of my own! So I added some grommets and some jump rings and added a couple more pics (sort of a mini flip book?) Now the seats aren't on the cart, I hand cut those myself.
Here's a close up of the Left side of the page, the sun is from Po-Up Neighborhood also cut @ 3", The grass is also on PUN and cut @ 3 3/8" (one side is flipped and the grass in the background is stretched to make a bigger mound) Having Fun and Play is off the Playtime Cartridge and so is the Adorable little Boy (doesn't he look just like McCade, lol)
Here's a close up of the Right side of the page. I had to add this adorable pic of the little man on the slide (he sure was fearless then, lol) The slide is from the Locker Talk Cartridge and cut @ 5" and Ground and some of the other words are from the Lyrical Letters cartridge. I also have a Journaling tag slide in behind the pic (you can sort of see it, has a yellow ribbon on it to pull it in and out. Also added some screw looking brads to hold the swing set together, (lol) and of course had to do some shading and popping for some depth and dimension. And for a little extra touch had to add some doodling with a White Jelly Roll pen!
Here's a close up of the pages and how there are more then just one "Swing"!
And and even closer look at the grommets and jump rings!
Now my Card Stock is Colorbok and the background cloud paper is some O L D-er DCWV paper.
Well I sure hope you stop by over at Stuck on U Sketches and check it out, the Design Team did some Amazing projects and there is definetly some amazing talent over there (Holy WOW is all I can say), Lots of Inspiration, So come on, why don't you go ahead and enter the challenge, just Remember "PLAY" and come along and "PLAY" with us, LOL!!! Don't forget to leave a comment and if you like you can even tell them Theresa Sent You!

I'm also entering this in the monthly Cricut challenge, it's to do a scene using at least 2 cricut cuts and the inspiration was to use the Pop Up Neighborhood cart so I think this qualifies to enter don't you think, lol!
Well you have a great weekend and I'll be filling you in soon on an update on how Eddie is doing (if your wondering who Eddie is, he is our Ornery Adorable Mule!)

Sweetie Pie Time @ BBTB2!

Hi Sweetie Pies! How are all of you, fine I hope! Well today is challenge day over at Bitten By The Bug 2 and it is our Lovely, Sweet, Talented Krista who gets to pick the challenge this week and she picked the Pie on Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge. This is such a fun cart with all the extra accessories on it, you can almost always find an image for something you need on one of the Paper Doll carts. Well I made a little shape card, isn't it Adorable, lol! Not much to my card this week, I welded it in Design Studio, did some doodling added some sparkly cherries and on this one I had to finish the inside, couldn't just have a pie that said Happy Birthday, kinda no where for that to go so how appropriate for the Sweetie Pie on the inside, right!
But I did use one of my favorite techniques.....................................
Packing Tape!
Put it on the back side with sticky side up and add glitter, the glitter sticks to the sticky tape and fills in the empty space with glitter and no messing with glue! Added the glitter to my cherries also. Now those I ran through my small Xyron machine face side down which turns it into a sticker and ten add the glitter to the sticky side and, Taa-Daa, you have a sparkly cherry!
Well the other Carts I used along with my Paper Doll Dress Up cart were, Paper Lace (Happy Birthday), Just Because (Sweetie Pie) and Nifty Fifties (Cherries) and the Papers are from Cosmo Cricket and Card stock is Coredinations.
Now remember if you don't have the Paper Doll cart use any cart that has a Pie on it, there are a few, as a matter of fact Just Because has a Pie on it along with the Sweetie Pie saying, lol! Link up your NEWLY created project with Mr. Linky and you could win our Great Pick Of The Week Blinkie (POW) along with Braggin rights of course! Don't forget to check out all the Amazing Pie Projects that the BBTB2 Design Team did, they truly are Amazing and I am so lucky to be on such an Amazing Design Team!
Well have a Great week, McCade starts school this week, he has back to school night tomorrow and starts on Wednesday, boy summer sure did fly by! I actually think I'm going to miss him when he goes back, we kind of had a fun TV time in the AM that I'm going to miss, he would actually sit and watch the news with me almost every mourning and we would discuss what is going on, so he actually knows whats going on in the world and understands the meaning of cutting back, maybe I should let him talk to our Government, he could teach them a few things, lol, you never know! Well...........................

Quick Quotes Friday Challenge Time!

Hi Everyone! It's Challenge time over at the Quick Quotes Blog and it's being hosted by our very own Michelle on the QQ Design Team. The challenge this week that Michelle picked was to use a number on your project. Well I was going through some pictures and found these of McCade's 1st Trip 2 the Beach! How Perfect! Isn't he Adorable! He was about 2 1/2 years old and had never been to the Beach since we were living in Vegas at the time. We had went down to visit my other Son Brian at the time and Brian Loves the Beach so had to share that experience with his little Brother! But can you believe I didn't even get ANY pics of them together!!!!
Well I've been dying to use the Quick Quotes "Live Out Loud" Paper Line and what a perfect opportunity with the bright colors! I also used my faithful Cricut and the main Cartridge I used was "Pack Your Bags" (Love It!) if you don't have it, really think about getting it. I also used Life's a Beach, a true staple in my cartridge stash. I also highlighted and shaded some of the images with some of the Quick Quotes Chalk Inks in Tahiti, Limeade, Blue Hawaiian, and Mocha Mama.
It's a pretty minimal layout without alot of embellishments that I always have a tendency to add but I do have a few extras. The cardstock I used was Colorbok and DCWV, I used my Jelly Roll for some accents in White, Brown and touches of Black. I also used my Cuttlebug to emboss some of the images. The folders I used are Swiss Dots, Devine Swirls, Spots & Dots, Forest Branches, and Welcome Baby.
And Yes I added one of my favorite hidden Journal Spots! I added it to the Beach Ball! How perfect is that!
I just Love this picture of my Little Man, boy they grow up SOOOOO Fast! Oh and I also added some dew drops to the page, don't they remind you of Bubbles, I hope so because that's what I was hoping for, lol!
And this is my all time favorite pic! He wanted to Boogie Board so bad but was so afraid of the water, well not so much of the water it was the pull on his feet "trying to pull him back in" he said so he wouldn't try Boogie Boarding, that was the extent of it, On Land, LOL! I had to hold him for him to get in the water and then he was okay with it!
Well I sure hope you enjoyed McCade's 1st Trip 2 The Beach (lol) I also hope you decide to join us over at the Quick Quotes Blog and Link up your New project. You don't have to use QQ papers (but if you have them, why not, lol) You could win a prize and the best part.............................
You get to win a Quick Quotes Blinkie to add to your Blog, along with Bragging Rights!!!! And be posted as a Winner on the Quick Quotes Blog along with a picture of your project! How Cool is That!!!

Well I hope you have a great weekend, are you doing anything exciting (?) maybe taking a trip to the Beach yourself, well enjoy! We will be going to the Hwy 127 Yard Sale! It's a Yard Sale that is 675 miles long and goes from Michigan to Alabama, we usually stay in KY and go down to TN but this year we're going north toward Ohio! We've been every year since we've been here and is always fun! There's a lot of commercial vendors but alot of people have their yard sales also and those are the ones that I like to stop at. I've got some fun and unusual things in the past years, you know, one man's trash is another Women's treasure, lol! I'm bringing my camera this year so I'll have to take some pics of the traffic and all the crazy people (including myself) that is willing to go out in the 100+ degrees weather to find a treasure! Wish me Luck and if your looking for something specific, let me know now and I'll keep my eye out for it! Well with that said.............................

Getting Ready for School BBTB2 Style!

Hey everyone, how are all of you!? It's Monday already and Monday's always bring a new challenge at BBTB2 and this week it's going to be from the Locker Talk Cartridge and ANY of the School Supplies (pencils, scissors, paper, ect.) Can You believe it's already time to get ready for Back To School!!! McCade isn't ready AT ALL! He said that summer just started and he thinks they got the days mixed up, LOL! He'll start the 5th grade this year (talk about time flying, I can't believe he's that old already, lol)! Well I actually love back to school time, I love all the school supplies that all the stores put out. I even usually pick me up a few things (probably like lots of you do also, lol) One thing I ALWAYS pick up are Composition books! You can usually get them a bit cheaper this time of year (not that they're expensive in the first place but if you can get two for the price of one, then that's a deal for me!) Well this time I made my own Composition Book! I used the Campin Critter's cart. There's a Camp Journal on it and I just left off the "Camp" and put my own "School" on it from Locker Talk. I know you all think I'm a Genious, LOL, LOL! I cut it at 8" and used some older Basic Grey paper's (McCade actually picked out the paper's since he'll be the proud owner of this little beauty, lol) He really liked it and even said that the kids will probably want one when they see it! Isn't that the sweetest thing anyone ever heard, out of the mouths of babes, lol! I added a Pencil, Scissors, Ruler, a Stack of books and even a working Paper Clip! And McCade Loves to read so I made him a new Locker Bookmark, he Loves Bookmarks (just like his Mama!) I added some pages to the inside and just used some Jute to hold it all together. I have some ribbon that looks like a ruler but I couldn't find it for the life of me so once I do find it I'll have to make another one. This was pretty simple to do and went together pretty fast, I simply Love how it turned out, I added some faux stitching and a small bit of inking, a brad on the scissors and it was done!
Here's a shot of the pages in the book and the paperclip and bookmark. Well McCade is all set for school, we've got his new school clothes and shoes, just need to get a new backpack, he said he doesn't need one tho, he still likes his old one, oh well more school supply money for me, maybe I see a new cart in the near future, lol! Well hope you join us this week over at BBTB2, just remember if you don't have the Locker Talk cart, Any cart with school supplies on it will work. Link up on the BBTB2 Blog, just remember that is has to be a NEW project and you could win our Cute Pick of the Week (POW) Blinkie to add to your Blog, along with Bragging Rights of course!
Have a Great week and try and stay cool, Yes it's still a Million degrees here and HUMID, YUCK!

((Hugs)) and Take Care,
Theresa
