Hi Everyone and How Are You? Are you ready for Christmas? Have you did any Baking? Well if you are (or did) hope you take some pictures and join us for this weeks challenge over at the
Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge because this week it's all about
"Baking For The Holidays"! We all love homemade cookies and it's just not Christmas without them! What are your favorite ones? Mine are these Italian waffle cookies called Pizzelle's that my Mom used to make and they just smelled sooooo good, vanilla and anise, oh so Yummy! My mom used to use a waffle iron that you needed to use over a flame for y-e-a-r-s but then progressed to an electric one which is what I still have and use. I still have her OLD waffle iron and it's very dear to my heart!
Well enough about cookies and on to the challenge!
Well as I said, this weeks challenge is Baking for the Holidays and I used one of my favorite cartridges, From My Kitchen. This was one of those carts that I HAD to have when it came out and I still love it! Part of my inspiration to this layout is these fun little buttons that I've had for quite a while (think I got them at Michael's at least 5 years ago, lol) and just HAD to use them on this layout. They were Perfect for it and really adds a bit of whimsy, don't you think!? Well as you can see I made a two page layout and I added one of my secret hidden journal spots again. Can you guess where it is?...............................................................
Yep In The OVEN! Open the door and that's where you can journal! Cute huh! Well the Oven is cut @ 5" and welded two of the cuts together using Design Studio to make the "inside" of the oven.
And what about a fresh percolated cup O' Coffee to go with those cookies. I cut the coffee pot @ 2" and the oven mitts are cut @ 2" also.
Here's a better view of the left side of the layout. The Gingerbread cookies are cut @ 5" and there is a boy and a girl (can't have one without the other, lol). Had to have a Bowl (cut @ 3"), Mixer (cut @ 3") Rolling Pin (cut @ 3 1/2") Eggs (cut @ 1") and the Canister (cut @ 3") to mix up some yummy cookies!
And a view of the right side of the layout. Oven is cut @ 5", Coffee Pot @ 2", Oven mitts @ 2", Pot Holder @ 2", and the saying is from Winter Frolic and cut @ 4". Now after seeing the saying on this post I think I should have put some of that sugar glitter on the word sugar in the saying. I may have to do that later and I'll update it and let you know, what do you guys think, Sugar or no Sugar, lol!?
Here's a close up of the Gingerbread cookies, had to add some blingy gumdrops and icing ric rac, pretty Yummy don't you think!
A close up of the mixing utensils and kitchen gadgets. Added a bit of embossing on the bowl also.
And a close up of these cute little gingerbread buttons, spatula and baking tray along with a close up of the coffee pot, oven mitts and pot holder. Oh yea and all the papers are from various Recollections paper stacks (with the exception of the photo mat pattern paper, those are some older DCWV) from Michael's I got a few weeks ago, they were 60% off for the deal of the day, pretty good huh, couldn't pass that one up.
Well I sure hope I've inspired you to do some baking and join us over at the
