BBTB2 Blog Hop - So Sweet!

Sweet! You're all here and that makes it So Sweet, lol! Hopefully your here for the Bitten By The Bug 2 Blog Hop, if not, you're in for a Sweet Treat! I can't believe that it's the end of June already! Can you believe it! Time is just flying! Well if you hopped here from The Wonderful Shelly's blog, your on the right track, you can also start at the beginning at the BBTB2 blog, and to check out my Lovely Design Team Sister's Creations, or if you ever get lost.
Well I have a Sweet Treat for you all. Monday's are always new challenge days at BBTB2 and the last Monday of the month is always Blog Hop week so this week Our Leader Heather, picked the Watermelon from Stretch Your Imagination and somewhere in translation I read/heard DoodleCharms (?), lol! Don't know where that came from, I have SYI but I pulled up Doodlecharms in Design Studio and planned out my cards and had them cut and half way done and realized Heather said SYI, I was even pretty excited to use an "Old School" cart but went Doodlecharms instead, Go Figure, I guess it's a sign of getting old, LOL!
Well I did two cards because I couldn't decide on the colors, I wanted bright and bold but then soft and sweet so I just made two, and went pretty simple! Well for me it's pretty simple, I have a tendency to get a little to intricate at times and then I'm stressed because I want it to be different and unique so this time I didn't do alot of layers and extras but wanted to see how quick I could get it done and still look like it has some personality. What do you think?
My First card:
Bold and Bright, Added a bit of embossing and doodling and inking and a touch of bling then......
My Second card:
Soft and Sweet! Pretty much the same as the first but used a different embossing folder, the Cricut Circle folders I got at meet and greet I went to in Ohio last year. It's the first time I used it! Both cards turned out pretty big but since they don't have alot of dimension they won't be to much to mail so I can mail them normally with minimal padding!
Well I have a bit of blog candy for you too, all you have to do is MUST be a follower (I will check, lol) and leave me a comment! See pretty easy! Now hopefully you'll be able to join us in the challenge which is to use the Watermelon from Stretch Your Imagination (or another cart with a Watermelon on it, hint, Doddlecharms, lol or any other) And it MUST be a NEW post, please no older post, you have two weeks to enter and you could win our cute Pick of the Week (POW) Blinkie.
Now your next stop on the Hop is our Guest Designer for the Month which is the Lovely Mona, Such a sweetie and Loved having her this month, so talented! Now remember if you ever get lost and to check out what all my Talented Design Team Sisters created, you can start at the beginning HERE, BBTB2 blog.
So have fun hopping and have a "So Sweet" week!

((Hugs)) and Take Care,
Theresa

Quick Quotes Post and a challenge!

Hi everyone, here's a layout I made using the Quick Quotes Julie Je t'aime papers, aren't they Gorgeous! The Vellum Quote is one of the many that Quick Quotes carries. I also used the Quick Quotes Chalk Ink Purple Passion on this one, along with the ribbon, yep, you guessed it, from Quick Quotes. I used my Paper Lace Cricut Cartridge for the Doily mat also.  I also used something new I found, It's called Bead in a Bottle, that's what those little gold dots that look like pearls are on the layout. I got it at Michael's in the fabric paint section and it goes on really easy and dries pretty quick and comes in a few colors, hoping they add more colors. I guess its similar to the Viva Decor pearl pens (I haven't tried them tho!) I also handmade the flowers using the QQ paper scraps.
Now the extras on this layout that I used are:
Paper punch: EK Success
Cardstock: Colorbok (Lavender), American Traditional Designs (Gold)
Bead in a Bottle: Tulip (Michael's)
Silk Flower: The Paper Studio
Here's a close up of the rolled flowers, pretty and really easy!

I'm entering this in a sketch challenge over at Sketch Inspiration. I just found this blog from my fellow Design Team Sister Rhonda and I Love it! I've never scrapped from a sketch and for me it was kind of challenging, lol! Well I'll keep you posted how it turned out!
Have a great weekend and I may have more to post over the weekend. It's a busy weekend for me, Lots and Lots to do so I better get to getting and get something done, LOL!
Chat with you all later!

(( Hugs)) And take care,
Theresa

A Day In The Sun Mini w/ Quick Quotes and a Circle Challenge!

Hi Friends and I sure hope you all have been having some "Fun In The Sun" in your neck of the world, here in KY it's been raining off and on for almost a week now! My garden loves it (but so do the weeds, lol) and I can't complain, it means I have more time to craft, Who doesn't love that!
Well I made a Mini Album using the Quick Quotes June 2011 Kit (KICK46) Love the Savvy Davvy Paper line! I'm also going to enter this in the Monthly Circle Challenge, I haven't entered one in awhile but I really need to and this would be a perfect time since it involves a road trip challenge, actually called "On The Road Again", and this mini is for a trip so how perfect, more then one use, lol! I used the Canvas from the kit and inked it with Tahiti Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalk Inks. I also used Maraschino Cherry, Blue Hawaiian, Mocha Mama and Limeade inks on this mini also.
Now as you can see I made an accordion album and I used my Cricut with the "Pack Your Bags" Cartridge. The majority of the papers in this mini album is from the QQ June Kit and the cuts for the images are QQ papers and DCWV cardstock. (I'll give you a complete supply list at the end of this post.)
Pages 1 & 2
The papers are QQ papers the "Our Trip" is from Pack Your Bags and is cut @ 1 1/2" with the shadow. (All the cuts are cut with the shadows)
Pages 3 & 4
I love how these turned out! I fussy cut around the red flowers for my picture mat and added the red bling to the centers (love it, lol!) The flip flops are from the PYB cart cut @ 2". Also used a Adhesive Quick Quotes Glitter Chipboard Dies.
Pages 5 & 6
Now this is a pocket page with a tag and a cute little bikini stamp (sorry folks I don't remember where I got it from, Michael's maybe?) all papers are QQ and the images are PYB cut @ 2" and DCWV cardstock. Added a bit of bling some ribbon and another QQ glitter chipboard piece.
Now this is my favorite page (maybe it's the wishful thinking of sitting on the beach with a Pina Colada and watching the waves roll in, lol!) Another image form the PYB cart cut @ 4" with DCWV cardstock, ribbon from Michael's and more QQ chipboard pieces.
Now I made this accordion mini with one of these Kits above and still have Bunches of goodies left over, I could probably make at least two more kits and STILL have stuff left over, you gotta love that! I sure hope you stop by Quick Quotes and do some shopping, try Club Q, You won't be disappointed, Lots of quality products and lots of extras to make more then just what's in the kits. Keep your eyes out, We are going to be having some Major fun over at the Quick Quotes Blog so check back soon, for some Fun over the 4th of July weekend!
Along with the Cricut Circle Challenge, "Again On the Road", that I entered this into I'm also entering this in a challenge over at Frosted Designs. The challenge is to use a Journaling tag on your project. Well all of the Design Team made Mini's and I didn't want to feel left out so I'm entering my mini too, lol, and on one of my pages I used a Journal tag. I lucked out since the QQ paper already had lines on it, so my tag has lines, Woo Hoo!
Well I sure hope your having some "Fun In The Sun" this summer and today is the official 1st day of Summer, and My Oldest Son, Brian's Birthday, he turns 30 today (boy I'm gettin old, lol!) I just want to say Happy Birthday, I Miss Him and Love Him LOTS!

((Hugs)) and Take Care,
Theresa (and Mom to You Brian, I LOVE You!)

Hangin With My Gnomies! BBTB2 Challenge!

Hi Everyone, I'm just Hangin With My Gnomies over at Bitten By The Bug 2 and I'm the Host of this weeks challenge, Woo Hoo! Well I've been up to my elbows in dirt from the garden and what a perfect little friend to keep me company as I work in my garden as these adorable little Gnomes! They are from the Freshly Picked Cartridge and it's the reason I bought it and then found out it had all kinds of Garden theme extras on it so it was an added bonus!
Well I was so excited to use these little guys that when I picked the challenge I just assumed (You know what they say about assuming..........I'll be nice, e-mail me if you don't know, lol) that all my Gnomies (aka: Design Team Sisters) had this cart and come to find out (from a frantic e-mail form a few of them) that they didn't and could we pick another image to go along with it! Well I frantically checked and sure enough, No, Nada, None! So it popped in my head, "What about an Elf" Yep there are a few (Jolly Holidays, Wrap It Up, Paper Doll Dress Up and Gingerbread that I could find, there may be more, please let me know!) So if you don't have Freshly Picked please use one of the above, any you find, or if all else fails, how about a Bird Bath or Something out in the Garden that you Love and makes you smile!
I used two of the little Gnomies, they are on pages 35-37, you can use ANY of them or ALL of them if you want, lol! I also used the Opposites Attract for the saying. I welded the shadows in Design Studio and embossed the letters, they aren't welded. I did LOTS of embossing on this layout and LOTS of inking. The ink I used is from Quick Quotes and I LOVE this ink! It's called Powder Puff Chalk Ink and I absolutely LOVE it! It goes on so soft and smooth and dries fast so you don't get it all over you! My little old man boy Gnome is cut at 5"........
So is the little girl! Their eyes are little black rhinestones and I just seen her as a Redhead, lol! Her braids are tied with some jute and she has a flower attached to her hat with a flower brad.
I also did one of my hidden Journal spots made with the watering can. It was cut at 3" with the shadow welded in Design Studio and the embossed and distressed too. I also used a Martha Stewart Punch around the page for some interest. The Paper is Cosmo Cricket called Garden Variety. The cardstock is Colorbox and I just love the Bright Vibrant colors I used!
I added pop dots to give it some depth and to compensate the bulky ribbon that I've had Forever and finally used it all up! You can see the dimension on this picture. I popped the saying and even tho it's inked it was missing something so I had to add some bling! You can never go wrong with Bling, Right. LOL! I think it was just what it needed!
Well I made three little flower pots and couldn't fit this one on (I just can't leave any open spaces, LOL) so I made a card with some of the scraps. You can never have enough cards and this one would be a perfect "Just Because" card, don't you think! The saying is form the Scrappy Moms Stamp line.

Well I sure hope you had fun "Hangin with Me and My Gnomies" for a bit today! We enjoyed having you here, if you like please leave us a comment, I think my little Gnomies would get a kick out of seeing what you think of them I'll make sure to relay the comments (giggle)! Thank You so much it really makes my day and now my little Gnomies will get to put a smile on their face and warm their little hearts!
Hope you can play along this week with us at BBTB2! Remember, if you don't have the Freshly Picked cart, use one of the Elves on one of the carts mentioned above, a bird bath or some cute garden ornament that makes you smile! You have two weeks to enter the challenge, link up with the linky on the BBTB2 Blog under the post and you could win that Cute little Pick of the Week (POW) Blinkie to add to your blog, along with bragging rights of course!
Well Thanks again for stopping by today, make sure you check out what all the other Design Team Gnomies have done, I had so much Fun with this challenge (and to tell the truth, I think the DT had some fun with it too, lol) Have fun in your garden if you have one and if you don't have a little Gnome, maybe you should put one in there, they make great conversationalists, LOL!!!

Edited to Add: I am including this in the Frosted Design Sketch Along Tuesdays #17 Challenge. Love Frosted Design, they always have so many great challenges and tutorials and is just an all around wonderful blog hop over and check them out, they love new visitors! I also found a new challenge site which is Whimsical Wednesday's and I'm entering their color challege #11, use at least Red and Yellow and one other color, but since I couldn't on this layout I used a bunch of fun colors, I sure hope it'll be OK!
((Hugs)) and Take Care,
Theresa
