Cricut Circle Blogiversary Challenge Entry!

Well the Cricut Circle Blog is having some really big challenges for their Blogiversary and this one is to use your Cuttlebug as the star! Well I think I achieved this challenge. It's a REALLY simple card for me but I needed a quick Anniversary card for a friend (how funny Anniversary, Blogiversary, what a coincidence, lol) So I used the Sweethearts cart and cut it in layers as you can see. The card base is embossed with a folder I got from a bundle from HSN when I bought my Cuttlebug and I'm not sure what the name of the folder is (sorry) and then I used the trusty Swiss Dots folder. The accents are an epoxy tag that says "Lifetime of  Happiness" (Lifetime is pretty hard to see in the pic) of course some Red Bling and a pretty Red bow! I feel pretty good about this one to since it was things I've had for quite awhile and need to use (don't we all have too many things sitting around that we NEED to use, lol!)
Well this is to win a Yudu CardShop Machine that I don't have. It is something I would love to own but have not acquired yet, lol! (See I've been pretty good about buying new things, other then some carts of course, gotta have those, lol) Well wish me luck and I'll keep you posted. Thanks for stopping in!

You Know Your Old When..............BBTB2 Buzzard Challenge!

Edited to add:
Okay yes, I seen that I spelled it wrong actually AFTER I posted it and went live this morning, lol I guess I was so excited that I actually thought of a saying before I did my project I got ahead of myself!, LOL! Thanks for pointing it out, I figured someone would spot it and call me out so touche', you got me, lol!
Theresa! =]
You Know Your Getting Old........................When the Buzzards Start Circling!!!! LOL, LOL!
Isn't that a Hoot! And I thought of it all by myself, lol! I always have a hard time with sayings so I was really excited about having one figured out even before I started my project! Well enough about my saying, lets get into the challenge this week!
Well it's Monday and challenge day over at Bitten By The Bug 2 and my Lovely, Amazingly Talented Design Team Sister and Friend, Agnes, (aka FlowerDisco) has picked the "Vulture" from the "Life's A Party" Cartridge to use this week. Now I can say this was one of the reasons I bought this cartridge (along with the cupcake wrappers) so I was excited to finally get to make it! Well the cart has a card feature on it so that made it easy. I used the tombstone card and cut it at 7". Than I cut the Vulture at 4" separately. I didn't weld them this time. I cut an additional layer tho of red for the tombstone and put some packing tape on the back of the R. I. P. cut image and added some black glitter to make it more sparkly. I also did the packing tape technique on the vultures wing section too but you can't really tell by the pics. The grass I added is from Plantin Schoolbook and cut in two sizes, 1" & 1 1/8", then layered and cut to fit the front of the tombstone. Now the bird is done in layers and I can say there are a nice amount of layers on this cart but no shadows but it turned out great even without them, you never would have even noticed I bet if I didn't say anything, lol! I popped all the different layers and did some embossing. I inked all the pieces for some added dimension. and of course, I had to add some Bling! To the tombstone and to the Vulture!
Here is the inside of the card (I actually finished the inside) but on this one I guess I kinda had to or you wouldn't get the Joke, lol! Hey, I have to tell you a quick little story, This was our first winter here in KY and my first winter with snow. One of the cows had a baby, it was so cold and it had been snowing and I knew she was going to have it any time and was really nervous, so I had went out really early to check and sure enough there was a new baby. Well as I went out to the field I looked up and there were about 10 Vultures sitting up in the trees by the house and about another 10 down at the end of the field (about 1/4 mile from the house) it was the eeriest and weirdest feeling seeing all those vultures just sitting there. And stupid me I didn't get a picture, didn't even think about it till later, I was just so worried about the new baby. Well she was just fine, Mama was cleaning her up, there was even steam coming off of her! I even got to go up and pet her, Mama actually let me! So every time I see a Vulture I think of that baby cow! But I sure wish I had gotten a picture, lol! (Now I ALWAYS bring my camera with me, even when I go out for a walk, lol!)
Here is a picture of the Vulture close up. You can see the embossing, layers and of course the Bling!
And here's the picture of the Vulture on the top of the tombstone. You can see it a bit better with the glittering the R. I. P. and the swirl.

Well I sure hope you join in the challenge over at the BBTB2 Blog. Just remember it has to be a NEW project to link up and you could win our cute BBTB2 winner blinkie to display on your blog along with bragging rights. You have two weeks to enter and if you don't have Life's a Party the use any scary bird or maybe a crow (there is a vulture on ZooBalloo and Zoo Day, I checked on Design Studio). I sure hope to see you there.

Let's Hang out for a Cricut Circle challenge!

There is a few challenges going on over at the Cricut Circle and I just had to enter this one. For this challenge you have a chance to win a Cricut Cake. McCade and I have wanted one of these for awhile but have put off getting one so maybe I'll get lucky this time (Yeah Right, lol)!
You are required to use your Imagine and create a background paper and an image cut in layers and use it on your project. Well I used the cartridge Better Together and printed out a 12 x 12 sheet of paper. Love the flowers and the colors on this cart. I then cut the "Let's Hang Out" image and cut it in four layers and popped them. I added some pom-pom trim for a bow and.......................
Printed out the cute little Phone, popped it and added a stamped "Call Me" for the inside saying! I'm going to add my phone # to it when I send it but I didn't want to for my post, (you all can understand why, lol!)
And here is a side view to show some of the dimension. I've started using my Imagine more lately. It comes in handy when I have a block on picking out papers since I hate to use my favorite paper pads, lol! (None of you do that do you, LOL!) And I like the way it sizes the print images to the size you cut your image at.
Well if I win I'll definitely be telling you all so wish McCade and I luck, he loves to bake and I love to decorate and last year we took a cake decorating class and had a blast so this would be fun for us to do together. Thanks for stopping by and I'll chat with you all later.

Tree Challenge with Stuck On U Sketches!

Hello all my lovely followers and how are all of you this wonderful Friday and the start to a wonderful weekend. Well it's been two weeks (can you believe it) since the last challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge and this week our theme is "Tree"! You can use any type of Die Cuts and/or machine to create a NEW project. I used my Cricut to create my "Organic Gardening" Journal. I also made a Thank You Card and a Corner Bookmark. I used my "Straight from the Nest" Cartridge and also my "Bloom" lite cartridge. I've always Loved this tree ever since I got this cart when it was an exclusive to HSN and I HAD to have it, lol! This tree has always just seemed "Organic" to me. I don't know why but it does, so I used it for this Organic Gardening Journal. The Tree is cut @ 4" on the Journal and 3" on the card and each layer is popped. The tree on the Journal has my favorite packing tape technique with some green peridot Martha Stewart Glitter added for some sparkle. Now the paper is My Minds Eye (love it and it's been some of those papers I just can't seem to use, lol) it is all glittered and embossed so it just adds to the sparkle and the pictures don't do the paper justice.
I added a couple of pockets on the inside of the journal to keep receipts or seed packets or even some pictures. I also added a paperclip and a bulldog clip so things don't blow away if it happens to be windy outside that day! Oh and also my corner bookmark to keep your place from where you were last time you were jotting things down! This is a cool feature on the Straight From The Nest cartridge with Lots of these corner bookmarks and I cut it at 2".
A close up of the Journal, you can see the sparkle, and I have to tell you I had to do some cutting on the word gardening since I couldn't find anything so I took two words and pieced them together from the Bloom cart. It was from the saying "How does your Garden Grow" and "Celebrate Spring" I cut the "ing" off of Spring and pieced to the word Garden to make the word "gardening". You know where's there's a will, there's a way, lol! On the binding I used a Martha Stewart border punch and used my Crop A Dile to punch a couple of holes to hold my jute on. And of course had to add some Bling! I also did some shading on my words to give them more definition and separation with some Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalk Inks in Mocha Mama and Green With Envy and did a little doodling with a Brown Jelly Roll Pen.
And then the close up of my card. Some added jute, a vinyl rub-on and of course, Bling!

Well I hope you enjoyed my "Tree" Challenge. I sure hope you join us over at SOUS Die Cut Challenge. Just remember it has to be a NEW creation and you have two weeks to enter. There is always a great sponsor to give away some great goodies. So what are you waiting for, get busy and go check out my amazing Design Team Sister's amazing projects for some inspiration over at the SOUS Blog if you haven't been there yet and join us, we would LOVE to have you!
Have a Great weekend and hope you get to, Get Crafty!

"Witch" Pair Go Best With My Broom, LOL!?

With Halloween coming I thought it would be fun to make some Cards and what Witch, oops, I mean Girl doesn’t love shoes???? And what do Witch’s and shoes have in common you ask??
Well this Witch made a few Witch Shoe Cards!!
I used my Cricut to make these and the Happy Hauntings Cartridge. I used all kinds of papers on these. They are all Quick Quotes papers with the exception of the card-stock which is Colorbok. I used Cherry Truffle, French Quarter, Miss Morgan, Savvy Davvy, and some of the May Cosmo Cricket leftover papers.
I inked everything with the Yummy Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalk Inks, Mocha Mama and Midnight Confessions.
The extras I used are the ribbons, Black Crinkle ribbon, Sheer Black and Black Gingham, a couple of Martha Stewart punches and a bit of bling, that’s it very minimal!
The Witch Shoe is cut at 5 3/4" and I created it in Design Studio and welded  two shoes together and then added all my layers to the card base.
This one is made with the Cherry Truffle and some scraps from the May Club Q kit, a Martha Stewart punch for the scallop at the top with the gingham ribbon, some black crinkle ribbon and some added bling.
This one is made with the Cherry Truffle, Savvy Davvy and more of the May Club Q papers. Another Martha Stewart punch, some black crinkle ribbon and some bling.
This one is made with the French Quarters, Miss Morgan and the May Club Q kit, a Martha Stewart punch, Sheer black ribbon and some bling.
And last but not least the last one is made with Miss Morgan, Savvy Davvy and French Quarters papers. Martha Stewart punch with sheer black ribbon and some bling.
Here's a fancy view of all the Fabulous Shoes, Wouldn't you just love to wear a pair of these Beauties, I sure would!
I just wanted to highlight the versatility of all the Quick Quotes papers and how you can mix and match them and make them your own! I think I succeeded don't you, I love these and please make sure to keep checking out all the inspiration that goes on with the Quick Quotes Blog and the Amazing Design Team. There are tips, tutorials, Guest Designers, Previews of the new Club Q Kits, Challenges and Great Contests with Amazing Prizes!
Well I sure hope you all like my shoes, (heck what girl doesn't love shoes, lol!) I had so much fun wearing, ooops I mean making them and I think I may be making some more of them, I think even if I did a bit of altering I could use some vintage looking papers and give them a whole other vintage look, so hopefully I'll see you all again and I'll get some more shoes (and Ken can't get mad at me because I didn't spend a dime, lol!)

Froggies over at BBTB2 this week! I'm right at home!

Hi everyone and it's challenge time again over at Bitten By The Bug 2 and I am telling you this is a FUN one! It was Carri's turn to pick the challenge and she picked the "Froggie" from "Create A Critter" and as you all know, I Love the Froggie's, so this was lots of Fun for me, LOL!
Well I made a card this week and actually it's a kinda big one, almost 8 x 8, so it could be technically a layout, lol! And you never know I may put it on a layout. That might be kinda cute, and 8 x 8 album. One side an image and the other side add the photo's. (Note to self: "Pick up a 8 x 8 album"!)
Well I used Design Studio again (love it!) and welded a bunch of images together and came up with this! I added the Sun cut @ 5", the Pond @ 2" (but I stretched it to give it more depth), Frog @ 3", Lilypad @ 3 1/2", Grass @ 2" & 3", Flower @ 4" and the Dragonfly @ 2". If it had a shadow I cut one but some I had to stretch to make my own shadow. I embossed almost all of the images using Swiss dots, Devine swirls, Spiderweb, & Forest Branches and my Cuttlebug. Everything is popped for dimension and I also inked everything using Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalk Inks in various colors along with some doodling dots with a brown jelly roll pen. The hearts are a punch and I added some cute Googley eyes to my Froggie and also the dragonfly. And speaking of my Dragonfly, he wiggles! I put him on a piece of wire I curled  to make him look like he's in flight! Cute huh, lol! I also cut the dragonfly wings out of vellum and added some Diamond stickles to them and a funny thing happened to them, it was like they had a chemical reaction to the vellum and they started to curl and distort. You can't really tell and once it dried they look fine but it was kind of strange. Has that ever happened to any of you?
(Here's a close up of that cute little Dragonfly!)

Well I sure hope you join us over at BBTB2 Blog for the "Froggie" challenge and remember if you don't have the Create A Critter cartridge you can use any Frog from any other cartridge. The challenge is open for two weeks and please just make sure it's a NEW project to link up and you could win our Great Blinkie, along with Braggin Rights of Course! Hope to see you there!

BBTB2 Blog Hop and Wheelbarrow Challenge!

Hello again everyone, and how are you this fine Monday!? We are expecting rain here in Kentucky but I actually hope it holds off till tomorrow because I don't work tomorrow and I love to craft when it rains. How about you, when do you like to craft?  That is my question for you this week and one stipulation of my blog hop candy, lol! I'll get to that in a bit tho, Candy that is, first of all the challenge for this week over at Bitten By The Bug 2 is the Amazingly Talented, and someone I always look to for inspiration, Donna, and her pick for this week is to use the "Wheelbarrow" from the Walk In My Garden. Another oldie but a goodie and actually was the third cartridge I ever bought for my Cricut. Now if you arrived here from Agnes's Blog (who is another amazingly talented Design Team Sister and Friend) you are on the right track, but if you ever get lost you can start at the beginning at the BBTB2 Blog!

Well I made a card for this challenge. I should be making fall cards but I had to get one more bright and summery card to put an end to summer. I created this in Design Studio using "Walk In My Garden" and the good ole trusty "George" cartridge. Lots of welding and for the saying I just used the pre-programed words on the WIMG cart. Lots of dimension with foam pop dots, some bling, stickles, doodling, chalk and ink..........................
And I finished the inside of the card too! Woo Hoo!
Here's a view of all the dimension and pop.

Your next stop is my Lovely Design Team Sister Penny on the Hop and if you ever get lost you can hop on over to the BBTB2 Blog and make sure you haven't missed anyone or start there if this is your first stop.
And here's a little something that I'm giving away for some Blog Candy. I added some tissue paper in there because I have a tutorial that is coming up that I will be making flowers out of tissue paper so then you'll already have a heads start and some to play with along with the other goodies I'll be sending. Now to win my candy, it's pretty simple, You just HAVE to be a follower, leave a comment, and tell me when do you like to craft, when it rains, in the AM, PM, middle of the night, weekends, on a full moon (lol) you get it, just when do you like to craft, I'll be drawing a winner next Sat. Oct. 1st. and posting here on my blog so make sure you check back. I also hit 500 followers on my blog so I may just have another piece of candy for a lucky follower because if it wasn't for all of you I wouldn't be here.
Well I hope you join in the challenge, it is open for 2 weeks and the only requirement is that it has to be a NEW project! And if you don't have the Walk In My Garden just remember that you can use ANY wheelbarrow from any cart to play. Just link up to the linky tool on the BBTB2 Blog and you could win our fun BBTB2 Blinkie along with braggin rights of course! And don't forget to Hop to each of the Amazing Design Team Gals and see the amazing creations that they came up with, they always blow me away with what they do! Amazing!
Well I hope you have/had fun on the Hop and have a great week, and get to get some crafting in. I still have a few things to finish for upcoming posts so keep your eyes out for some more fun projects and hope to see you over at the BBTB2  challenge.

Theresa
